Transition to winter.
Sunday, 06 June 2010 16:59

Well it's that time of year again. We have all been watching some wicked storms starting to show up on Jim Hickey's weather maps and as I hang up the wetsuit and surfboard and replaced it with a jacket and snowboard I made my way from a great Kaikoura autumn to Wanaka for winter.  The NZ Season has kicked off and we are back on the snow.

Here are a few pick of the change in weather over the last 3 weeks.

Ohau

Crown Range

Moody Arrowtown Mist

Than I headed to Queenstown for the weekend to catch up with Nick Hyne, Dutty, Bugs and Friends to film for "Diaries Down Under", Ep 1 will be dropping on the 10th from Coronet peak. But for now here is a sneak preview of what we got up to.

"F" for Furgburger. Mmmmmmmm

Than it was over the other side of the valley to Remarks for some pre-opening Jibbing. They gave us a ride up to the park on the back of a groomer.

Us in the cage on the back

Bugs and Brian riding shotgun.

The Set up.

Hyner once again got crazy on this thing but it wasn't without consequences. Your going to have to wait to see what nick and crew landed when bugs reveals what he captured at the Remarks in Ep 2. "Diaries Down Under"

Got my new truck the other day. Stoked to have a really Kiwi car.

Kahutara, Kaikoura.

They boys up for the session early in the morning.

Timing the set before running in.

There was some Solid 6ft waves coming through.

My bro Tim Zee playing on some of the goods.

Tim again.

Random local plying on the inside between sets.

This is what it looks like when you don't make the section...

One dude was even practicing his tow-ins at south-sides.

Tim getting out of the washing machine alive.. Later on a body-boarder got knocked out in there and a few locals had to save him and drag him on the beach.

This was the start of the the night session.  So back out there....
