On the Road for more goods.
Thursday, 10 September 2009 14:43

This is what I wanted. To stand on top of a peak and be in the middle of nowhere. So it did not take much to convince me to sit in a car for 11 hours out of 36 hours to do so... The weather was average at best in Wanaka and word had it the sun was shinning farther north.

On the road after leaving Wanaka at 4am we were here 4 hours later. Where were we? Well a little short cut, after missing any petrol station we going to the Craigieburn range.

Token travel shot. Almost there I can see it.

Our destination hiding behind Castle hill.

By this stage we had the petrol light on and we were traveling away from civilization.

Finally we can see some of the terrain we want to shred. Back-country. We met up with J Mac and we were ready to get out there and shoot some photos.

Earning his line. RMB getting ready to touch some sky.

Back bowl playground. A long hike but well worth it. Ended up walking to the Top of Mt Cheeseman and I was walking distance away from Mt Olympus.

After a wicked day shooting photos RMB had managed to send himself of a massive cliff, landing 90ft down the hill into a blood bath ride down the hill.

Was it all worth it? So many hours in the car and hiking for hours. For me it was obvious, I had a great time but if you still need convincing. Well just ask RMB in the blood bath on the way down the hill if he had a good time.

POW at Cardrona and Ohau
Sunday, 06 September 2009 17:51

This vid is from the pow day with friends at cardrona.. thanks to NZsnowboard.com and Tim Pierce.

NZ pow days at cardies are so much fun. Photo thanks to nzsnoboard.com.

Mini shred photo thanks to the holler blog.

Yesterday we did a trip to Ohau and I was with Holler and Pablo to go check it out.

The carpark is even a scenic treat.

Pablo reaching the summit and loving it. (only to go for a higher peak 5 mins later..)

This is a small skifield with all the good fealings of a clubfield and some sick lines to be had..

The view to the north looking at Mt Cook in the background. (top left)

Pablo, Robett and I were all snapping shots out of the window like tourists at the same time.

Back home and time for a BBQ and my first try at a driving range from my back yard. Over the road, over the trees and onto the wanaka golf course fairway. Thanks for coming!

winter games big air
Tuesday, 01 September 2009 15:41

This was the Winter Games Big Air Jump with a great view but that's where things went down hill with some ankle deep slush, rain and strong winds.. Somehow we got a result and I walked away with a wn.

The police were on hand incase I got out of control.

We got this Kodak moment with John Key the Prime Minister of New Zealand for those of you that don't know. When Nick was Handed his medal he gave the PM a hug... and i got the bro shake when i went up for my 2 seconds of fame. (about 1.5 seconds after this was taken the PM body guard took nicks arm of his shoulder cos a peace sign is not appropriate.)

The next morning after some beers in Nick's new Spa i went up coronet peak again for some sole shredding and to hang out with nick and the Japanese he was coaching.. good times.
