New Zealand Open Snowboarding.

I've been riding at Cardrona lots these days and this week was the burton NZ open and I have to say that I am stoked to be a part of it this year, as I have never witnessed snowboarding to the level as I saw over the last 48 hours. This is me on the hip having some fun before the comp got going. I ended up making the finals in the slope style and placing 6th. Shelly G got 3rd and was killing in the slopestyle and representing the Kiwis

Slopestyle finals check out the video. Thanks Wallow.

Yesterday I took a day off to watch the Half pipe finals and after watching so many double cork 10s 12s and even a 1440 in the slopestyle my expectations were very high for the pipe. (Kier Dillon boosting)

I was not to be disappointed along with a few thousand others that were watching. About 5 People were throwing double corks with best trick going to Luke Mitrani for his Double Michalchuk first hit about 15ft out!

A few of the Park crew catching there breath up the pipe during a few weeks of crazy hard work.

Big Ups to John Melville who built the pipe.

Mason Aguirre boosting a flat back 5 first hit.

Danny Kass helping a kid grow a beard like his.

Guess Who?

Shaun White said of yesterday's comp “I’m proud to win today. This was the heaviest event that I have ever been in. That’s saying a lot, as I have been in a lot of these. ”
